The Miracle of flying
We often forget how amazing and recent in the history of man is Flying. Seeing over a cloud was never possible. This simple image is a reminder that we should continue to be grateful to all the adventurous minds that made this possible. Let's not take it for granted.
Clouds over the Pacifc
A cinema screen in the sky for the Sun to remind us that it's the source of all life on Earth.
Flying over Canada
It was easy to feel a presence, to be awed by the sheer power and vastness of everything around us.
Sunrise flying over Normandy
First look after a long flight, soon to land and get back to our lives on the ground. Just one more moment detached from everything.
Storm fron over the Pacific
The storm line was so clear, representing forces of wind, moisture, and heat that are unseen but very real. We see so little of reality, it's a reminder to remain humble.
Arrival in Los Angeles
It felt like the shore was mirroring the wing of the plane. Earth is like a vast spaceship.
Sunset colors inside a cloud
Here the picture of a sunset, flying south, from within a cloud.
Sunset on Maui
Loved the peace, the beauty of the peace that comes with day breaks. Change of rhythm.

Between sea and clouds the light shines through.
Flying seagull in the sunset
On a hot summer day in Normandy a seagull flew inshore, maybe returning home after a hard day of fishing. I hope he caught some good ones.
Sunrise over Manhattan from Newark
The view from the Marriott at Newark airport. The hotel looks like nothing, but the view is beautiful. Even when your life is shit you can still find beauty around you.
Last glow of the summer
Swimmers enjoy reaching the raft that's a little ways from the shore. Kids play on it, push each other into the water, climb back and make lots of noise. Summer life is playful. This photo was taken at the end of August, school will soon be starting, there were no more kids playing on the raft.
Sunset on Leblon, Rio de Janeiro
Suddenly the sky turned entirely pink. Everyone stopped talking to admire the colorful display offered to us. It was a magical moment for Christmas in Rio.
Sunrise in Maui
Jet Lag has its positive, including walking on the beach at day break on the first days of vacation. There is no softer light than a sunrise, the last evanescent respite before reality swallows you into its maelstrom.
Joyous clouds on the Horizon
In the Pacific there always are clouds on the Horizon. We have a different time perception than many parts of Nature, we can't perceive their movement, but we can imagine them being playful.
Sunrise on a grey sea, Portugal
The day was grey, the sea was lead, a light wind was carrying the February cold, suddenly the sun broke in between the sea and the hard ceiling of clouds. It's was time to connect from within.
Calm sea morning in Normandy
My father loved swimming in that sea, on that beach. He taught us to brave the waves when entering the sea. He swam there as long as his illness let him. This picture was taken the morning of his death, early in the month of November. It was as if the sea was mourning him too, offering us its most beautiful hue of blue to express goodbye. This picture has come to symbolize my father's passing.
Seascape under blinding light
That's how the light feels, bouncing on the ever changing water surface on a hot summer day. No sunglasses....
Slanted Perspectives in Miami
Why should the horizon be horizontal ? In Miami you can do anything. The school of fishes swimming toward the island gave me the inspiration.
Morning mist in a Normandy Garden
Mist in early Fall morning. I spent part of my childhood playing in that garden.
Overnight snow fall, Switzerland
A snow storm during the night, then a break in the clouds and a beautiful light. Snapped quickly to capture the moment.
Tree of Trinity in afternoon light
Three trunks for one overall tree. I loved the tree, I love the light glazing over ice crusted snow, I loved that moment of composition.
